Lori L. Barton joined Harper & Peterson, P.L.L.C. as a law clerk in April 2002 and later as an associate attorney in November 2003. Lori focuses her practice primarily on the firm's complex liability cases, as well as managing its motion practice. She has been part of the litigation teams that achieved successful settlements in cases involving a defective security system, insurance bad faith, negligent security resulting in the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, wrongful death arising out of negligent highway maintenance, medical malpractice, negligent misrepresentation of an insurance agent, negligent infliction of emotional distress and negligent control of a minor, and the negligent hiring/supervision of a teacher who sexually assaulted a student. She presently serves as the Chair of the Minnesota Association for Justice's Amicus Committee, which submits amicus curiae briefs to the appellate courts in cases involving significant matters of concern to MnAJ's members, their clients, and the people of the State of Minnesota. Lori was named as a Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2011 and was selected as one of Minnesota Lawyer's Attorneys of the Year in 2011.
