Nancy Barron has recently been elected Co-chair of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA). Based in Washington D.C., NACA is composed of 900 attorneys committed to promoting equal justice for consumers in the fight against unfair and abusive business practices. Nancy has been a member of the NACA Board since 1998, and served as editor of its member publication, The Consumer Advocate (2000-2003).

Nancy Barron holds a B.A. from Stanford University (1973) and a J.D. from Hastings College of Law (University of California)(1981). She was a Fulbright Scholar (Germany 1974-1975) and is a lifetime member of the Fulbright Association. She was admitted to the California Bar in 1981 and since then has been practicing civil litigation with trial and appellate experience. She has contributed to several landmark appellate decisions related to the California Lemon Law including Ibrahim v. Ford Motor Company and Kwan v. Mercedes Benz of North America.

Nancy Barron is the author of a widely used book on the lemon law, Return to Sender: Getting a Refund of Replacement for Your Lemon Car, published by the National Consumer Law Center (Boston, 2000). It can be ordered on Amazon.com. In addition, she is the author of many articles on consumer litigation appearing in a variety of publications, including TRIAL Magazine. She has focused on consumer issues since 1985 and has been involved in more than 1,000 cases brought under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. She has also handled class actions and individual cases concerning credit problems, unfair billing practices, defective vehicles, and dealer fraud, as well as other unfair and deceptive business practices. She has been the California State Bar approved provider for MCLE seminars on consumer law, and has spoken at law schools, as well as state and national conferences.
