Robert L. Barrow was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brigham Young University (BYU), where he played varsity football and served as a graduate assistant football coach and Teaching Fellow in expository writing and research. Mr. Barrow pursued graduate studies in English, Social Science, and Linguistics. After college, he was a world class Professional Martial Arts expert and appeared in movies and television with his teacher and coach, karate star Chuck Norris.
Mr. Barrow graduated cum laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego. While in law school, he earned American Jurisprudence Awards, scholarships and honors for academic excellence and mentored first year law students in legal writing. He served as executive editor of the Law Review, and as a research–writing extern to Judge Patricia M Benke of the California Court of Appeals in San Diego. One of two published Law Review articles earned national recognition to the Scholar's Conference on the Bill of Rights. While attending law school and teaching full time—high school English, speech, and debate—Mr. Barrow was selected to “Who’s Who Among America's Teachers.” After Law School he served as a Law Clerk pro tem to U.S. Congressman Ronald C. Packard.
Mr. Barrow joined Brayton Purcell in January 2010 and is active in our asbestos and mesothelioma litigation practice. Prior to joining the legal team at Brayton Pucell, he was a litigation associate for Paul & Hanley LLP, from 2000 to 2010, representing victims of the asbestos cancer, mesothelioma, and asbestos diseases. At Paul and Hanley, Mr. Barrow was voted attorney of the year and received numerous recognition awards for outstanding service to injured workers and their families. His work included all phases of complex litigation involving major corporations that manufactured, used, and sold asbestos products including oil companies, chemical companies, automobile manufacturers, ship builders, aircraft manufacturers, industrial equipment manufacturers, and major contractors.
Mr. Barrow is a member of the State Bar of California, the J. Ruben Clark Law Society, American Association for Justice, and Consumer Attorneys of California. He is admitted to practice law in the State of California.
