Barron, Deborah

Maisie A. Barringer is a native Texan and strong advocate focused on family law issues. Graduating from University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelor's in Business Administration, she returned to her true passion and earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law, opening her own law practice in Houston, Texas in 2006.

As a single parent, Ms. Barringer realizes the opportunities and challenges that present themselves to individuals, families and children. Her passion for helping others through the legal process, whether facilitating adoptions or assisting clients with moving on to healthier, more rewarding life situations makes her a successful mediator, litigator and advocate. She litigates cases before the bench as well as juries, and provides expert documentation for pleadings, motions and appellate briefs. Ms. Barringer was selected as the 2009 Professionals on the Fast Track by H Texas Magazine and as a Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star by Texas Monthly and Texas Super Lawyers magazines for 2008, 2009, and 2010. She is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, an active member of the Board of Directors of the Houston Bar Association – Family Law Section, an active member of the Texas State Bar – Family Law Section, Burta Rhoades Raborn American Inns of Court, and the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists.

She continues to support positive change through area activities such as serving on the Board of Directors for the HAY Center, a non-profit organization that assists foster youth who are aging out of the foster care system. Additionally, Ms. Barringer donates her time for child advocacy and court representation. In making positive change, Ms. Barringer has been an invited speaker at various Continuing Legal Education seminars, as well as mentoring young lawyers who desire to practice family law.
