Dennis B. Barrett received his J.D. from the Thomas M. Colley Law School in 2000 and his B.A. in Economics from Michigan State University in 1988. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2000, the U.S District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan in 2000 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 2000.
Mr. Barrett's practice focuses on debtor protection with emphasis on consumer bankruptcy. He represents debtors in foreclosures, repossessions, fair debt collection, truth in lending, credit repair, short sales and debt settlements. He has worked in the credit industry for over 35 years as both a lender and a collector.
Mr. Barrett is experience as a lender and collector gives him unique insight into the practices of creditors. This knowledge is invaluable in assisting his clients in solving their financial problems. He has previously worked with Associates Finance (now Household Finance), Bank One Financial Services, Michigan National Bank (now Bank of America), Citizens Bank and Charter One Bank.
Mr. Barrett is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the Debtor's Bar of Western Michigan.
