Mr. Barraza attended The University of Texas at El Paso where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 1989. After his graduation, he moved to California where he attended Law School at Western State University. After obtaining his Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.) he was admitted to practice law in California in 1995.
Although Mr. Barraza has represented clients in various areas of civil trial litigation, Mr. Barraza's practice has primarily been focused on representing plaintiffs in personal injury and wrongful death cases arising from all manner of catastrophic accidents. These types of cases have included construction site accidents, products liability, government liability, premises liability as well as auto and motor-carrier accidents.
Since he began practicing law, he has been involved in excess of 25 cases that have resulted in settlements or verdicts for his clients in excess of one million dollars. In fact, Mr. Barraza was co-counsel in an Intellectual Property case that was tried over a period of a month and a half in the Los Angeles Superior Court which concluded in a 5 million dollar result for his clients. He was also co-counsel in two separate cases which resulted in verdicts in excess of 7 million dollars for his clients.
Mr. Barraza is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of California, all California State Courts and the Federal District Court for the Southern District of California. He is a member of the California Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, and the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. He has served as a Barrister in the American Inns of Court and has been listed in the Marquis Who's Who in American Law every year since 2000/2001.
