I was born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 12, 1952. After graduating from the Kentucky Military Institute in Louisville, Kentucky in the spring of 1970, I attended The Ohio State University where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree, majoring in political science. In 1988, I received my law degree from Capital University, Cum Laude, and was admitted to both the Ohio and Federal bars. I served as an associate with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease (1988-1996), of counsel to the law firm of Rickets & Onda Co., L.P.A. (1996-2002) and as a solo practitioner (2002-present). I have worked in the area of debtor/creditor rights since 1974 in various capacities, including serving as an outside collection representative for a large department store chain going door-to-door throughout central Ohio collecting delinquent consumer debts and as a credit/collection manager for a commercial division of a major financial institution.
I am a member of the Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations. I have lectured throughout Ohio on mortgage foreclosures and co-authored a publication entitled "Ohio Mortgage Foreclosures" for Professional Education Systems, Inc.
Serving central Ohio since 1988 as an attorney, my practice areas include representation of debtors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy proceedings, workouts (out of court settlements and restructuring of debts) and litigation matters. My bankruptcy practice occupies better than ninety percent (90%) of my professional time.
