Megan Barbero is a counsel in the firm's Litigation/Controversy Department, and a member of the Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Groups. She joined the firm in 2006.
Practice
Since joining the firm, Ms. Barbero has represented individuals and public companies in a wide variety of civil matters before federal and state courts. Her practice is primarily focused on appellate litigation and intellectual property disputes. Ms. Barbero has represented clients in appeals before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Ninth, and Federal Circuits and state appellate courts. Ms. Barbero is a member of the Boston Intellectual Property American Inn of Court.
Ms. Barbero’s pro bono practice focuses on appellate and immigration law and has included the successful outcome in Dada v. Mukasey, 554 U.S. 1 (2008). Ms. Barbero has been appointed to appear as pro bono amicus counsel on behalf of immigration clients through the Ninth Circuit’s Pro Bono Program. Ms. Barbero is also a member of the First Circuit’s Criminal Justice Act Appellate Panel.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Ms. Barbero completed a clerkship with the Honorable Pamela Ann Rymer of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Ms. Barbero is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Courts of Appeals for the First, Ninth and Federal Circuits.
