Will Barber, a graduate of the University of Texas (highest honors, Phi Beta Kappa), and the Harvard Law School, has practiced law in Austin, Texas for more than forty years. Having been a partner in Brown Maroney & Oaks Hartline and Senior Counsel with Locke Liddell & Sapp, Mr. Barber is Of Counsel to HULL HENRICKS & MACRAE LLP. His principal practice areas include: Litigation (trial/appellate), Administrative Law, Insurance, and Legislation, with emphasis in Products and Professional Liability, Administrative Procedure, Insurance Coverage, Legislative Tort Reform, and Civil Courts' Charges. Legal articles and publications authored or co-authored by Mr. Barber in Texas Exemplary Damages Law (Michie/Lexis, 1997, supplemented 1999); 1987 Tort Reform: The Quest for a Fairer and More Predictable Texas Civil Justice System and associated articles [25 Hous. I., Rev 25,245, 1005 (1988), and 21 St. Mary's L. Jour. 525 (1990)]; and A Guide to Texas Workers' Comp Reform (Butterworth, 1991).
Mr. Barber served as Special Counsel to the Texas Senate and Senator John T. Montford during the 70th and 71st Sessions of the Texas Legislature, and taught a class on legislation at the University of Houston Law Center (1993-1995, adjunct professor). He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers (former Chairman, ACTL Emil Gumpert Committee: annual awards to law schools for excellence in teaching of trial advocacy).
