Mariah Balling-Peck received her undergraduate degree from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia, graduating Magna Cum Laude with multiple degrees. She then commenced studies toward her MBA at the University of Pittsburgh before attending the esteemed Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There, she obtained her Juris Doctor degree and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and the United States Federal Court. During her tenure at Duquesne, she was a member of Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, Trial Moot Court Honor Society, and chaired the Trial Moot Court Team during her second year of law school. Ms. Peck had the honor of serving a Federal Clerkship with the Honorable Judge Robert Cindrich of the United States Federal Court, Western District, as well as clerking for 2 state court judges before commencing private practice.
In her first year of private practice, Ms. Balling-Peck won an appeal before the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania on an election appeal, one of her areas of expertise, which earned her the appointment as Solicitor to the Controller of Fayette County, Sean Lally.
Jury Verdict Review and Analysis: Mariah has been published nationally for a civil jury trial verdict in a vicarious liability tort action, for which she obtained a verdict in favor of her clients in 18 minutes and had a criminal jury trial acquittal in 17 minutes. Attorney Balling-Peck serves in many volunteer functions working with women and children who suffer from domestic violence. She is a child advocate and advocate for women in Fayette County.
