Bankowitz, Jason C.

For nearly 30 years Ronald Balter has represented the interests of injured workers before the Workers' Compensation Board of the State of New York.  In addition to representing injured workers before the Workers' Compensation Board he has also works to protect their rights through his membership in the New York State Bar Association and the Society of New York Workers' Compensation Bar Association.  He is also among the founders of and long time Director the Injured Workers Bar Association, the leading bar association in New York State dedicated to the protection of the rights of injured workers.

Mr. Balter has also lectured for numerous bar associations and labor unions on issues pertaining to the New York State Workers' Compensation Law.  His writings on workers’ compensation issues in New York have been published by the New York State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.  He also serves as the co-author of the seminal book on workers’ compensation in New York, the New York Workers’ Compensation Handbook (Lexis/Nexis) since 2009.  The treatise is updated on an annual basis.

In addition to his legal work Mr. Balter has been active in support of the University at Buffalo and its Athletic Department for more than three decades.  His dedication was honored when he was inducted into the school’s Athletic hall of fame in 2008 when he was awarded the Ralph J. Gugino Award.  The equipment room for the university’s football team has been named for Mr. Balter and his family.  Since 2011 he has served on the Board of Director’s of the University at Buffalo Alumni Association.
