Chris' practice focuses in the area of construction law. Chris represents general contractors, subcontractors, and construction project owners. Chris advises clients regarding workmanship issues, and claims associated with liens, bonds, delays, and non-payment. In the litigation setting, Chris has extensive experience representing both owners and contractors, including hearings before the Registrar of Contractors and in alternative dispute resolution settings. Additionally, Chris advises contractors in general business matters, licensing requirements and the drafting of construction contracts. Currently, Chris teaches Construction Contract Administration at the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University.
Chris also practices in the areas of labor and employment, complex commercial litigation and personal injury. In the areas of labor and employment, Chris advises the firm's business clients regarding breach of employment contracts, wrongful termination and employment discrimination. In the areas of commercial litigation, Chris handles a variety of matters including contract, fraud, negligence and insurance disputes.
Chris earned his J.D., cum laude, from Arizona State University College of Law. Chris served on the law review and his article, "Supreme Court Review of Excessive Prison Sentences," 25 ARIZ. ST. L. J. 929 was selected for publication. Chris earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from Northern Arizona University in 1991. Chris played football for NAU and received a number of awards and honors for his athletic and academic achievements, including: NAU Student Athlete of the Year (1989-1990); GTE Academic All-America First Team Selection (1989); College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Academic Achievement Award (1989 and 1990).
Prior to joining Warner Angle, Chris clerked for the Honorable Thomas C. Kleinschmidt at the Arizona Court of Appeals. Chris enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife, Stacy, and their two children, Matt and Carly.
