Michael A. Bander received his law degree, and a B.A. with Honors, from the University of Virginia. Prior to beginning to practice immigration law in the late seventies, Mr. Bander was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and an officer with the U.S. Agency for International Development in Asuncion, Paraguay. He is a member, and former president, of the South Florida Chapter of AILA. He is also a founding member of IMMLAW, the national consortium of immigration law firms. He has been selected by his peers to be included in The Best Lawyers in America and Miami Today's "Best of Miami."
Mr. Bander is also a past-president of the American Jewish Committee (Miami); and has chaired the immigration committee of the American Jewish Committee's Domestic Affairs Commission. He has also been on the Governor's Commission on Affordable Housing and the City of Coral Gables Pension Board.
Mr. Bander has also recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida Bar Foundation, an organization committed to expanding and improving the representation of the poor in civil legal matters and providing financial assistance to students of the law.
