Ballard, Betsy Spratlin

David Band received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland and his law degree from George Washington University. Shortly thereafter, he co-founded one of Sarasota's largest and most respected law firms.

In addition to being a successful attorney, David has been instrumental in the development of Sarasota and has developed some of Sarasota's most prominent buildings including Hollywood 20 and Kane Plaza.

David has also been a leader in Sarasota's philanthropic community and has contributed and/or raised millions of dollars for Sarasota's charities. David, who is a Trustee at the University of Florida Law School, co-founded the Out of Door Academy and has been instrumental in the development and growth of the Goldie Feldman Academy, Florida Winefest & Auction, Sarasota Film Festival, Asolo Theater, Sarasota Ballet and United Cerebral Palsy. He has been honored by among others, the YMCA, Community Video Archives, Goodwill and the Sarasota Manatee Jewish Federation. He is a board member of the Sarasota Memorial Foundation and also serves on the Sheriff's Advisory Board, and Advisory Board of the University of South Florida.

David, who is known for his zealous representation of his clients, practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, business law and real estate.
