Ball, Judith E.

Joe is a partner and chair of the firm's Creditors' Rights, Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group. He has extensive experience in the areas of creditor and debtor rights, bankruptcy proceedings, out-of-court loan restructurings, and the purchase and sale of distressed businesses, including extensive litigation experience and practice in bankruptcy courts throughout the United States.

He has represented debtors, creditors, official and unofficial creditors' committees, trustees and receivers in all types of bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, including involuntary proceedings. Since 1998, Joe has served as a panel Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee for the District of Massachusetts (Western Division) and has acted as an operating trustee and as a court-appointed examiner in numerous bankruptcy cases. He has also served as an appointed member of the Bankruptcy Court's Local Rules Advisory Committee and Electronic Case Filing Rules Committee.

Joe was named a New England "Super Lawyer" by Boston magazine and Law & Politics in 2007, as well as a Massachusetts "Super Lawyer" in both 2005 and 2006. In 2006, 2007 and 2008, he was selected by his peers for inclusing in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law.
