Mr. Atler is a native of Denver, Colorado. He graduated cum laude from Washington and Lee University where he received a B.A. in Humanities. He was selected for Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership organization, and Who's Who in American Colleges. In 1960, Larry received his J.D. from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law where he was President of the Law School and Phi Delta Phi (a legal fraternity). During law school, he clerked for Judge Johns of the Superior Court and also acted as a night law librarian. During the 1970s, Larry spent time as an instructor of real estate law for the Savings and Loan League. From 1975 until 1995, he was a panel member of arbitrators for personal injuries and construction controversies.
After his admission to the Colorado Bar, Larry served 6 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He also co-founded the law firm, Atler, Zall & Haligman, P.C. During this 20 year affiliation, he was a co-managing officer and director. For the last 14 years, he has been affiliated with Senn Visciano Canges P.C.
Simultaneously with the practice of law, Larry developed two successful chains of restaurants, with locations nationwide; these were ultimately sold to Collins Foods (NYSE). He also co-founded two additional local restaurants, one of which has existed over 40 years and was recently converted to an event center. Larry has co- developed, owned, and managed many apartment, retail and office buildings in multiple states.
Mr. Atler is a transactional attorney, concentrating on all aspects of real estate and business law with a wealth of experience in negotiation. One of Larry's more publicly recognized achievements is the co-authorization of the original Condominium Act of Colorado. Since 1974, Larry has held the Martindale Hubbel "AV" rating, the highest rating for legal ability and reputation. Former clients include the City and County of Denver; Van Schaack & Co.; Magna Associates; American Title Insurance Company; Roath & Brega, P.C.; Marvin Davis; ITT Development Co.; Bramalea Companies of Canada.
