Mark P. Asselta is a partner with the firm. He concentrates his practice in commercial and residential real estate transactions, land use, and litigation related to real estate, including foreclosures, tax appeals, and eminent domain proceedings.
Since 1995, Mr. Asselta has served as the Solicitor for the Merchantville Planning Board. In 1998, the Honorable Joseph E. Irenas, of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, appointed Mr. Asselta as Special Master in the case of United States of America v. 8,000 Acres , a federal condemnation action involving various ownership issues and boundary line disputes. Since 1998, Mr. Asselta has served as New Jersey Foreclosure Counsel for the United States Department of Justice for mortgages held by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and other federal agencies.
Mr. Asselta has acted as counsel to Bergstol Enterprises in the development of the Pine Hill National Golf Course located in Pine Hill, New Jersey. He has also prosecuted tax appeals for clients such as RCA and General Electric Company. Mr. Asselta has served as acquisition counsel for over 200 fee and easement takings by the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority, and as foreclosure/collection counsel for the Resolution Trust Corporation.
Mr. Asselta graduated magna cum laude from St. Joseph's University with a bachelor's degree in Politics in 1982. He earned his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in 1985. At Dickinson, Mr. Asselta served as an Associate Articles Editor for the Dickinson Law Review. Mr. Asselta authored the Comment, "The Constitutionality of Compulsory Identification Procedures on Less Than Probable Cause," and the Note, "United States v. Place," which were published in the Dickinson Law Review in 1985 and 1984, respectively.
Mr. Asselta was admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania in 1985. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Asselta is a member of the American, New Jersey and Camden County Bar Associations.
Mr. Asselta was born in Vineland, New Jersey in 1960.
