David Arndt graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1983 after earning a B.A. degree in history and political science from the same institution in 1980.
After clerking for The Honorable Joseph Scherkenbach, Judge of the Sixth Judicial District, from 1983-1985, Arndt joined the Matonich and Persson law firm where he tries personal injury cases and has been involved with every major trial handled by the firm.
Dave focuses his practice in plaintiffs’ personal injury, products liability, litigation and appeals, and professional malpractice law. Arndt assumes the lead role in the legal research and appellate work done by the firm, often drafting the initial briefs and responding to rulings and challenges issued by the courts and opposing counsel. He holds bar admissions for the State of Minnesota, the U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota, and the U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Further, he is a member of both the Range and Minnesota Bar Associations. Arndt plays a lead role in ensuring that lawyers in northeastern Minnesota have ample opportunity for continuing education courses, often facilitating classes and seminars across the region.
Arndt is active in the Christian Legal Society and serves on the Range Center Board of Directors. Further, he is a dedicated advocate of the pro bono work done by the firm, serving people without funds who seek access to legal help through Matonich and Persson.
