After working in the local radio and TV market Scott entered law school at the University of Louisville and graduated in 1991.
Scott returned to Huntington to begin his legal career, working as an associate attorney for Jenkins Fenstermaker for over 2 years before going to work for Offutt Nord. There he worked from 1993-1999 as an associate attorney before becoming a partner in the firm.
Scott worked for insurance companies and their policyholders during that time, handling cases such as auto and truck accidents, products liability, asbestos defense, premises liability, industrial and workplace accidents, and insurance coverage disputes.
