DANIEL T. ALTMAN became a partner of the firm in 1997. Mr. Altman has been associated with the firm since 1990.
Mr. Altman is a 1989 graduate of Brooklyn Law School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration, from the State University of New York at Albany.
Mr. Altman is a member of the firm's Leasing Department. He has drafted and negotiated store, office, retail, triple net, ground, telecommunications and loft leases on behalf of both owners/developers and tenants, covering hundreds of thousands of square feet of leased space in office buildings, malls, strip centers and residential and commercial buildings. Mr. Altman also handles commercial and residential transactions involving the purchase, sale and financing of properties and developments. He serves on the New York State Bar Association's Commercial Leasing Committee and is a member of New York County Lawyers Association's Real Property Section.
Mr. Altman also handles many of the firm's real estate related bankruptcy issues, including lease default issues, lift stay issues and assignment/sale of leases in bankruptcy and has had extensive experience arguing such issues in both the Southern and Eastern District Courts on behalf of owners and lenders.
Mr. Altman acts as counsel to many cooperatives and condominiums, advising them on their day-to-day affairs, including shareholder disputes, mortgage refinancings and reviewing contracts with vendors.
