Allen, Janet Cheryl

J. EDWARD ALLEN was born in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Allen was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1973 and the Tennessee bar in 1979. Mr. Allen earned his B.B.A. from the University of Georgia in 1970, and graduated from the University of Georgia's School of Law in 1973. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma.

Mr. Allen is a Certified Court Mediator and has been a speaker for ICLE on complex mediation. He was a member of the Supreme Court of Georgia Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism from 1996 through 2002. He was appointed to the 2006-2007 State Bar Committee on Professionalism. He is a member of the Western Circuit Bar Association, and served as the Association's President in 1989. He is a past president of the McMinn County Bar Association, and he is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association. Mr. Allen served on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia from 1988 to 1995. He is also a member of the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and has been a speaker for Medical Education Services. Mr. Allen's areas of practice include Civil Litigation, Insurance Defense, Health Care Law, Domestic Relations, and Mediation.
