Rick Alaniz has been at the forefront of labor and employment law for over thirty years. He was a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor and served on the President's Cost of Living Council during the Nixon Administration. He also held prominent posts within the National Labor Relations Board, first in Washington D.C. and later in Minneapolis, where he coordinated the NLRB's enforcement actions in the five-state Midwestern region.
Founding Alaniz and Schraeder in 1985 deepened Rick's enthusiasm for labor and employment law and his drive for continued excellence in the field. He contributes dozens of articles per year on labor and employment law to trade journals and conducts several seminars each month to client companies and trade associations across the country, following a demanding schedule that would exhaust legal practitioners of any age. While his outstanding credentials and boundless energy got him "in the door" with CEOs of food processing companies, steel producers, supermarket chains and other labor-intensive industries, many other factors have contributed to his long-standing relationships with client companies; Rick prides himself on close attention and thorough responses to even the most minimal of concerns, and an ability to promptly assess and communicate the impact of employment and labor law developments on client companies' day-to-day operations.
