Richard's early years as an attorney were devoted exclusively to trial work, primarily defending personal injury lawsuits throughout the State of Indiana. He later expanded into the areas of business and contract disputes and tried many cases relating to those matters. His trial experience includes representing real estate brokers both in courts and before administrative agencies. He has litigated major class action lawsuits as well, in which he represented clients in state and federal courts. A recent class action lawsuit he prosecuted for the plaintiffs resulted in a mediated settlement in excess of $7million. While Richard continues to engage in trial work, for the last twenty five years he has developed a very active practice in the areas of utility, energy and telecommunications law. In particular, he has and continues to represent a wide variety of providers of communications services, including telephone, video and internet, before state and federal agencies and courts.
