Sam Abrams has extensive experience in prosecuting interferences and drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, including European oppositions, primarily for inventions in the fields of biotechnology and chemistry, with emphasis on pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, drug delivery systems, and immunology. He also has extensive experience in the preparation of validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement opinions, and the strategic planning of patent portfolios.
Sam worked at Pennie & Edmonds from 1987 until 2003 and prior to that he was a member of the patent departments at Merck and at Procter & Gamble. He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Association and the New York Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association.
