Mr. Acosta graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a B.S. in Anthropology in 1996. He immediately went on to graduate from John Marshall Law School where he obtained his J.D..  Prior to, and 6 months after graduating from law school, Mr. Acosta worked for the Cook County State's Attorneys Office in Chicago, Illinois, where he gained valuable experience on how the Criminal Justice System works, including the procedural aspects of the criminal justice system.  Mr. Acosta also prosecuted dozens of drug cases as well as gun cases and many other types of felony offenses. 

After working for the Cook County State's Attorneys Office, Mr. Acosta then went on to work for several very prominent Chicago criminal defense attorneys.  There, Mr. Acosta learned how to defend people who have been accused of crimes vigorously and effectively.  Mr. Acosta began to distinguish himself amongst older, experienced attorneys and the results were showing. 

In 2003, Mr. Acosta opened up his first law office.  A small unpretentious space in Berwyn, Illinois, which is still functioning. Soon thereafter Mr. Acosta began to excel and show people in the legal community as well as his clients that he was in fact a different type of lawyer.  His practice expanded and within a few years Mr. Acosta then opened 3 more offices in the Chicago area.

Mr. Acosta has tried 100's of bench trials, 100's of motions to suppress evidence, as well as dozens of jury trials over the years.  Mr. Acosta has handled more than 5000 cases in his legal career.  During this time he has shown himself to be a true advocate and his only interest is obtaining the best result for his clients.  Every case is reviewed as if it were going to trial.  A plea is not the first option and every case is reviewed to determine what legal strategy will be the best. This is why Mr. Acosta has been so successful.  He is not afraid to try a case!  Due to his experience, knowledge, and zeal, Mr. Acosta does obtain much better than average results for his clients.  Mr. Acosta is sought out by many other criminal defense lawyers for HIS advice on how they should handle their cases.

Mr. Acosta has lived his entire life in the Chicago-land area.  He grew up on the northside of Chicago and currently resides in the western suburbs with his wife and children.  HE KNOWS AND UNDERSTANDS CHICAGO!  

Mr. Acosta is fluent in Spanish and lived for a brief period in Mexico City.  This is where he learned to speak the Spanish language correctly  Mr. Acosta is able to assist his clients who have difficulty communicating and understanding this system of justice.  Mr. Acosta is here to help those that have trouble understanding and navigating the system. 

Mr. Acosta has tried cases in many states including Ohio, Wisconsin, Texas, and Indiana.  He is barred in several Federal jurisdictions across the United States.  He is also a member of several legal organizations and was a member of the Board of Governors for the Western Suburban Bar Association.
